Sub Administradora del Canal de Panamá representa a las mujeres panameñas de la industria marítima en la Conferencia de Maritime SheEO 2022
Nos enorgullece informar que la Ing. Ilya Espino de Marotta, Sub Administradora del Canal de Panamá participó como ponente de forma virtual en la Conferencia de Maritime SheEO que celebra la diversidad e inclusión de género, agentes de cambio y las soluciones sostenibles.
En la Conferencia que se celebró el 16 de noviembre de 2022, la Ing. Ilya Espino de Marotta habló sobre su carrera profesional en la Industria Marítima, en especial trabajando en el Canal de Panamá y que como mujer líder en la industria a través de su capacidad y ejemplo desea abrir las puertas para muchas otras mujeres que quieran aspirar a altos cargos.
La Ing. Ilya Espino de Marotta rompió paradigmas cuando asumió el primero de enero de 2020 el cargo de Sub Administradora del Canal del Panamá, convirtiéndose en la primera mujer en ocupar el cargo. Antes de su nombramiento como Sub Administradora del Canal de Panamá, la Ing. Ilya Espino de Marotta lideró el Proyecto de Ampliación del Canal de Panamá como Vicepresidenta Ejecutiva de Ingeniería en la Autoridad del Canal de Panamá y fue la primera mujer en la historia de la Autoridad del Canal de Panamá en ocupar el cargo.
Es muy gratificante ver como las profesionales panameñas en el sector marítimo van ganando espacio y reconocimiento a nivel internacional!
Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal represents Panamanian women in the maritime industry at the Maritime SheEO 2022 Conference
We are proud to inform that Eng. Ilya Espino de Marotta, Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal participated as a virtual speaker at the Maritime SheEO Conference that celebrates gender diversity and inclusion, agents of change and sustainable solutions.
At the Conference that was held on November 16, 2022, Eng. Ilya Espino de Marotta spoke about her professional career in the Maritime Industry, especially working in the Panama Canal and that as a leading female in the industry through her ability and example she wants to open the doors for many more women who want to aspire to leading positions.
Eng. Ilya Espino de Marotta broke paradigms when she assumed the position of Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal on January 1, 2020, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Before her appointment as Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal, Eng. Ilya Espino de Marotta led the Panama Canal Expansion Project as Executive Vice President of Engineering at the Panama Canal Authority and was the first woman in the history of the Panama Canal Authority to hold the position.
It is very gratifying to see how Panamanian professionals in the maritime sector are gaining space and recognition at the international level!
